We are looking for a PHP and JavaScript developer with a creative interest in games. The ideal candidate has experience with PHP, JavaScript, and web development in general. She or he should have a creative side, with an eagerness to explore worldbuilding within games.

You’ll be joining the team working on MouseHunt, a passive adventure game with more than 12 years of history and thousands of active players. You’ll be learning our technical platform from other team members to add new game features, content, build episodic expansions, as well as improve our legacy codebase over time.
Job Responsibilities
- Coding new item, feature, and gameplay functionality into the game in PHP
- Creating and maintaining interfaces built in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Maintaining a hybrid native app built with Apache Cordova and Backbone.js
- Organizing assets from the art team to implement into the game
- Help with player-submitted bug reports, sometimes directly communicating with players to help create bug reports and resolve issues in the game
Necessary Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, and CSS
- Understanding of source control technologies (Git and/or Subversion)
- An absolute love of games and fantasy worlds
Technologies we use: PHP, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, Backbone.js, Require.js, Cordova, Objective-C (iOS), Java (Android), Facebook SDK, Facebook Graph API, SVN, Git, Linux, Apache.
Bonus Qualifications and Skills

- Native app development for iOS and Android
- Experience designing user interfaces
- Experience maintaining and improving upon legacy code bases
- Sysops, web server configuration, Apache, etc.
- Creative personality with an interest in worldbuilding, narrative, and lore
- Game design (mechanics and balance)
