Hi-Rez Studios is looking to hire an experienced Mobile Game Client Engineer to work at our studio in Alpharetta, Georgia on our newest title Rogue Company.

We are looking for an exceptional engineer who wants to be part of a close-knit and fast-paced development team. This person will work directly with other programmers, artists, and designers to build groundbreaking UI, game play, and client features for our game. We are interested in experienced candidates with high levels of creative energy and passion for creating amazing player experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making Rogue Company the best product it can be on all of our supported clients, with an extra-special passion for cross play and bringing the experience to mobile.

What our Mobile Game Client Programmers do:

  • Architect and implement client side core systems for Rogue Company
  • Strive to improve the quality of the user experience on mobile platforms (Android and iOS)
  • Some of the areas that a mobile client programmer is responsible for include:
  • Focus on usability across various mobile devices and screen sizes
  • Planning and executing usability testing, and incorporating user feedback
  • Input handling architecture
  • Managing memory usage
  • Optimizing load times and asset management
  • Champion Hi-Rez’s core values

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in video game UI or Gameplay development (Unity, UE4, Lumberjack, etc.)
  • Experience in mobile game UI or Gameplay development (iOS, Android)
  • Exceptional C/C++ design and programming skills and software best practices
  • Familiarity with Mobile game/app UI/UX design and development
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a cross-discipline collaborative environment
  • Comfortable prototyping and working with an iterative development process
  • 3+ years’ experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment

Preferred candidate has:

  • Unreal Engine 4 experience
  • Unreal Motion Graphics experience
  • iOS or Android mobile development experience
  • Experience with performance analysis and code optimization in Unreal 4
  • Experience working on multiplayer games
  • Familiarity or experience working on shooter genre games
  • Familiarity or experience with input systems and mechanics for mobile shooter games
  • Experience supporting a live service (SaaS)
  • Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degree
