SUMMARY OF POSITION

Gunfire Games is seeking a Senior Level Designer for our upcoming titles. The Senior Level Designer will work with the design leadership to create compelling level designs from conceptualization to implementation utilizing Unreal 4. The ideal candidate has a strong technical understanding and a firm grasp on the fundamentals of level design. The Senior Level Designer will also be responsible for setting up enemy encounters within a level to create memorable combat scenarios. Required to be a self-starter, must be motivated and willing to work without a lot of supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with design leadership and art team to design, layout and implement compelling level designs
  • Develop and implement fun gameplay, and puzzle scenarios
  • Set up engaging combat encounters
  • Work within an established creative guideline to create levels that fit the game's overall vision
  • Create compelling and concise level design worthy of top of class AAA game

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years of Game Design Experience, 2+ in Senior Designer role
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Solid scripting knowledge
  • Ability to iterate and implement quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Knowledge of game production pipeline and 3d game engines
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Collaborate, give and take of constructive critiques while keeping a positve attitude
  • Actively seek feedback to improve work while also providing guidance and feedback to peers
  • Ability to adapt and cope with change as the production of the project demand
  • Must be currently eligible to work in the USA and onsite in Austin, Texas
