Overview:

The Full Stack Engineer (with depth in front end tech stacks) spearheads GumGum Sport's effort in developing a market leading client facing platform using bleeding edge technologies and frameworks for our AI Powered Sports Sponsorship Application.

This role is responsible for the design, build and implementation of our web application that is supported by cloud native solutions. These services leverage the latest in AWS technologies.

This role reports to our Engineering Manager as part of the team supporting the client facing web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Build functionality for GumGum Sport

  • Design, develop, and maintain new features and improvements for the sports React web application, which also interfaces with external APIs
  • Develop backend functionality with Node.js and TypeScript running as AWS cloud native services
  • Create new web applications from the ground up as needed

Comprehensive testing and maintenance of front end infrastructure

  • Implement tests and develop cross browser functionality
  • Troubleshoot user reported issues from the team's applications
  • Collaborate with a variety of teams including Data Engineering, DevOps, Product and Product Design
  • Implement automated unit and integration testing
  • Implement logging and performance monitoring

Quality assurance and innovation

  • Review suggested code changes from others, make suggestions to improve product and system performance
  • Innovate on continuing to drive the front end technology and adopt forward thinking innovation to our front end technologies

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Experience:

  • 5 years experience developing web applications user interfaces
  • 3 years experience developing in a cloud environment
  • 3 years experience building components with React
  • 1 year experience with TypeScript
  • 2 years experience building responsive layouts with CSS and HTML
  • Experienced with modern integrated testing, debugging and automation techniques
    • Cypress, Jest, or similar tools
  • Preferred:
    • 3 years experience building SASS applications
    • experience designing and implementing systems at scale

Skills:

  • Ability to pragmatically apply best practices to front end code
  • Great communication skills to communicate with both technical and non-technical cross functional team members and stakeholders
  • Project management and excellent prioritization skills
  • Ability to understanding of software architecture including UI, frontend, and backend

Personal Attributes:

  • This role works entirely remotely and requires someone who is self motivated and ambitious
  • Naturally curious and able to problem solve
  • Travel at least once a year
