Guild’s Director, Apparel is a key member of the leadership team, and is responsible for developing and rolling out the strategy for Guild’s target market across all apparel/merchandise. As “guardian of the Guild brand” across apparel products/merchandise, the Director, Apparel maintains the integrity of our image across the entire company’s portfolio of products, apparel and merchandise to position and commercialize Guild competitively in the esports marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product/Apparel Design

  • Drive Guild product development, pricing and new product launches as well as develop new business opportunities.
  • Create and manage promotional collateral to establish and maintain product branding.
  • Identify opportunities that link with the brand identity, for targeted B2C promotion.
  • Organize and style photoshoots (working closely with the Director, Marketing & Brand), tradeshow booths, and promotional events as required.
  • Manage online merchandising activities.
  • Analyse sales results to understand customer online behavior and aid in future planning.

Supply Chain Management

  • Plan and implement Guild’s overall supply chain strategy for merchandise, setting key supply chain KPIs/goals.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels to minimize lead times and prevent inventory shortages.
  • Manage purchasing cycle, including generating requests for pricing, purchase orders, delivery schedules, receiving, and final payment.
  • Responsible for vendor management, including sourcing high quality vendors, comparing quotes, negotiating contracts, and initiating and managing strong relationships.
  • Manage inventory and distribution to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, identifying and rolling out process improvements.
  • Responsible for all forecasting & inventory planning activities associated with e-commerce customers and products.

Strategic Planning

  • Inform the CEO and executive team of day-to-day operations and progress toward strategic apparel KPIs/goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop strategies to build apparel sales and brand credibility (as relates to apparel) within multiple markets and sales channels.
  • Conduct analysis of sales forecasts and relevant financials, and report on product and apparel sales.
  • Build and manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

General

  • Manage the budget for Guild apparel, and merchandise.
  • Other duties as may be required and assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years’ directly related experience in a design and consumer products role.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing and/or Business Administration related field.
  • Deep understanding of Guild as an organization, of the esports marketplace and of direct competitors.
  • Experience operating in high-volume ecommerce operations.
  • Highly creative and adaptable, able to think strategically and engage tactically.
  • Skilled in organizational development, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Passion for gaming.
