Our Character Art Team:

Guerrilla’s Character Art team is a multifaceted group of artists with a single focus: bringing the diverse tribes of Horizon’s worlds to life. Working hand-in-hand with peers in other teams at Guerrilla, as well as external partners, this international team of creative problem solvers produces a large variety of content while retaining a tight-knit culture.

What you will do:

As a Principal Character Artist at Guerrilla, we will look to you to:

  • Collaborate with artists, designers and engineers to concept and create exciting characters in a variety of styles
  • Supervise and inspire your team members and external partners by actively mentoring and training them, both creatively and technically
  • Set quality standards and ensure that those standards are maintained by conducting regular asset reviews &nbsp
  • Work closely with your peers in Art Direction and other Art disciplines to ensure stylistically consistent, world-class output

Who you are:

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role as a Character Artist
  • Have experience in all game development cycles (pre-production, production, post-production), and have shipped at least 1 AAA game
  • Have mastered your craft, from modeling, to surfacing, to rendering and articulation:
    • Anatomy
    • Color theory, values, form, shape language and silhouette
    • Modelling for articulation, and deformation
    • Texturing and Surfacing, both from an artistic and technical POV
  • Are versatile, and can apply your skills to a variety of styles – real or expressive, hard-surface or organic
  • Can take, understand and apply art direction, and are comfortable with constructive criticism and feedback
  • Are adept at setting and communicating quality standards within your team, as well as with freelancers and external partners
  • Have an innovative mindset, and take initiative in improving pipelines and processes
  • Have a track record of successful collaboration
  • Have great written and verbal communication skills

Bonus points if you:

  • Have a passion for the Horizon Franchise
  • Proficiency with Maya, Zbrush, Substance Designer/Painter
