About GRID esports:

At GRID esports we are building a data-ecosystem specifically designed for the esports industry. The GRID platform is designed to enable games publishers, teams and leagues to leverage official data assets through both B2B and fan-facing channels. We do this through the use of a specialized technological approach to build real-time esports data processing systems.

As a key member of the wider Commercial Department at GRID, you will play a vital role in acquiring new business and ensuring the best possible experience for our partners and clients. As the global leader in our industry, you will be at the forefront of business development in the esports betting space. You will be equipped to succeed in building and maintaining your own network and pipeline and have the full might of GRID’s commercial team behind you.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be To

  • Be responsible for bringing in new endemic and non-endemic sponsorship business to GRID, across our tournaments, team products and data products
  • Ensure partners activations and deliverables are met, giving them the best experience possible and giving GRID the best chance of future repeat business possible
  • Work closely with GRID’s PR team to present new partnerships and market moves to the wider esports and business community
  • Head up business development projects for GRID tournaments and teams, including negotiating and establishing sponsorship deals, broadcast partners and managing team relationships
  • Be the first point of contact for agencies working with GRID on sponsorship and other opportunities
  • Work with GRID’s tournament and commercial teams to contribute on GRID’s direct business with esports teams, both acquiring new business and managing existing partners and ensuring obligations are met on both sides
  • Over time in the role, there will be the opportunity to directly manage a team of direct reports to deliver best in class account management services
  • Ensure new partners are onboarded successfully and provide account management services for existing partners
  • Work with the VP of Partnerships to provide regular communication to investment networks
  • Support the VP of Partnerships, VP of Business Development and regional leads in establishing GRID as the premier esports data company in all our business verticals

Job requirements

  • Confident and composed social skills, a people person even in unfamiliar environments or cultures
  • A strong personality, able to handle challenging conversations as well as ensure partners always feel valued and respected
  • Track record of securing and executing B2B sponsorship deals
  • Solid commercial acumen, with at least 2 years experience working in a business environment
  • Excellent knowledge of the esports industry, including an established network with teams and TOs
  • Experience leading and managing people
  • Experience with working in a role with brands, and establishing a network of brands
  • A flexible and open approach to your role, esports and startups are ever changing
  • Experience in sales or business development, preferably in a B2B context
  • Knowledgeable of esports betting industries would be beneficial, but not mandatory
