Job Description:

The Senior Game Designer will be responsible for the creative vision of competitive and cooperative action-packed multiplayer games, game modes, and features. They are responsible for communicating that vision to studio leadership and the development team including other Senior Game Designers, Producers, Artists, Engineers,etc. To successfully execute the role, the candidate must have experience leading a full development team for iOS & Android platforms, provide appropriate design documents, have deep experience in game design theory and a working understanding of Unity.

The candidate will work with a supporting Game Design team, driving all feature design work to align with the overall product vision. The candidate will also work closely with the Producers to plan key features, live operations, and content updates. The candidate will regularly communicate with studio leadership, assist in product play testing, and work with other team members to review the full mobile product. In addition, the candidate must be able to take notes from multiple sources and be able to incorporate the feedback into revised game content and features.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and own game features from concept or request through completion and live operations.
  • Work with studio and design leadership to identify goals and requirements in order to define the design space.
  • Explore, develop, and provide multiple designs for features with articulated trade-offs, risks, and costs for the proposed designs.
  • Work with all disciplines to bring features from design to complete production.
  • Solicit internal feedback through playtests and design reviews.
  • Improve designs based on internal feedback, game metrics, and user feedback.
  • Work with analytics and stakeholders to refine live features.
  • Work with the team to create practical solutions with scalable designs.
  • Advocate for the player experience while addressing requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years professional mobile games design experience
  • Shipped at least one game as a part of a development team

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Shipped a mobile game title with robust live operations
  • Experience with multiplayer-heavy mobile game design
  • Experience designing on a game with a significant amount of daily active users
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Familiarity with sports and esports
  • Experience working on platform systems (chat, friends, teams / clans, tournaments, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of content creation pipelines and tools in Unity
  • Passion for making mobile games with an understanding of current market trends and demands
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced live operations development environment
