People are fundamental to our success. Now, we’re looking for a Director of GOG Engineering, who will lead a team of 60+ professionals (including software and devops engineers, QA specialists, agile coaches, and designers), and be responsible for expanding the capabilities of GOG.COM and GOG GALAXY.
The role will address three main pillars: team leader development, technological vision, and building bridges between various product and business aspects of our company.
Responsibilities:
Team leadership:
- Building and managing high performing teams that are aligned, motivated, fast-paced, innovative - and understanding a culture that includes developing, retaining, and scaling.
- Aligning engineering teams with the company's mission and strategy.
- Working on performance optimization (people, tech, and budget).
- Managing team structure in accordance to people & business needs.
Technological vision:
- Playing a key role in setting the technical direction of the company, including technology radar.
Business alignment:
- Cooperating with the business portion of the company to provide necessary product and business alignment within the engineering department.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a position related to managing software engineering teams, in an agile environment.
- Past experience of working in an environment with a diversified technological stack (ideally with either C++, PHP, or front end technologies).
- Strong communication and negotiation/influencing skills.
- A constant desire for growth, for both you and your team.
- Adaptiveness - as we always seek the best ideas and ways of doing things, changes may be necessary.
- Passion for video games, apps, online technologies, and geek culture.
- Fluent English is a must.
