GMR Marketing is the sports marketing agency of record for Comcast, a top-25 sports sponsor in the United States and 2018 finalist for “Sports Sponsor of the Year” (Sports Business Awards). GMR assists in managing Xfinity’s portfolio of 100+ partnerships across sports and entertainment.

The Account Coordinator supports a team of highly-motivated individuals in providing strategic recommendations for local sports partnerships (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, NCAA), producing valuations of proposals, negotiating sponsorship terms, facilitating review and contracting, and tracking metrics with internal and third-party systems. The position will also assist in the coordination of select Gaming (esports) programs. This role will report directly to the Account Supervisor of Client Consulting + Services.

A Fortune 50 company in a highly competitive telecommunications industry, Comcast is one of the United States' largest video, high-speed Internet, and phone providers to residential customers under the Xfinity brand. GMR supports Comcast with a variety of marketing efforts including: Partnership Strategy, Sponsorship Creative, Gaming, University Segment Marketing, Business Services, Regional Programming, Retail, Mobile Tours, Experiential Campaigns and Employee Engagement. This position specifically supports the Partnership Strategy & Gaming teams, and is based at the GMR headquarters in New Berlin, WI.

WHAT YOU’LL DO //

  • You are a multitasker. You will support three Divisional Partnership leads and key clients to advance Xfinity’s brand and partnership marketing strategy.
  • You are analytical. You will assist in producing data-driven valuations of sponsorship proposals, strategic recommendations on new and existing partnerships, and marketplace overviews.
  • You are a detailed project manager. You will create client presentations and summaries, perform online research, and maintain administrative aspects such as tracking documents, meeting invites, agendas, recaps, timelines, assignment briefs, and end-to-end creative reviews.
  • You are passionate about the business of sports. You will develop a thorough working knowledge of the sports landscape and introduce new ideas to shape sponsorship strategy.
  • You have a general knowledge of esports and gaming. You will coordinate and execute select programs and elements. You will lead projects that require attention to detail and follow-through.
  • You are collaborative. You will work with GMR Creative, Studio and Procurement teams to ensure timelines are met and client directives and feedback are considered.
  • You are eager to support. You will complete other client requests and projects as assigned.

YOUR EXPERIENCE //

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or related field
  • 1-2 years of related experience in sports marketing, sponsorship
  • Team, league or agency experience is a plus
  • Interest in partnerships, brand strategy, and client services; experience is a plus
  • Sports business industry knowledge, both traditional sports and gaming, is a plus
  • Sponsorship activation experience is a plus
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines; working independently as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Passion for digital media, including understanding of social media networks and related platforms
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to travel 1-3 times per year (if needed) for on-site activations or events
