ABOUT GINX

GInx Esports TV operates the world’s largest esports television channel, reaching over 50 million households worldwide, across 40 territories in 8 languages. Over the past year, the company has developed a digital platform to sit alongside the TV channel and is looking to recruit a Web Editor who will take the reins on creating content for the platform.

THE ROLE

As part of this team, you will work to support the growth of the soon to be launched online platform. Your primary task is to manage the editorial composition and team of the news side of our platform but you will also publish articles yourself, cover relevant news and oversee the editorial side of video content on the platform.

You will collaborate will work closely with the video team on content they produce to align it to your own publishing schedule.

As the Web Editor, you will work closely with the TV channel and the OTT platform teams to help deliver best-in-class experience for product users.

Your day-to-day responsibilities would include:

  • Manage the overall editorial content of the site with a core focus on Esports and ensure it is aligned with the GINX Esports TV channel.
  • Engage freelance writers as and when needed, budgets to be pre-approved by Ginx TV on a case-by-case basis.
  • Leverage and build relationships with esports pro players, teams and publishers to drive engagement with GINX Esports TV.
  • Represent GINX during events and trade shows, shot by or about GINX. This includes both B2B events and live competitive tournaments, both in the UK and overseas.
  • Research and write esports content, creating multiple pieces per day.
  • Monitor unique user count and other key analytics to measure progress.
  • Use SEO skills to make key, informed decisions around content, commissioned or otherwise
  • Work closely with the rest of the team to create original ideas for strands segments and specials across on-air, online, digital & social.
  • Follow leads from esports news and community sites to break stories.
  • Researching, verifying and collating information to support content production for broadcast, digital and social, using relevant information sources such as the internet, archives, databases, etc.
  • Ensure all content reflects the diversity of our audience

YOUR PROFILE

We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking and talented candidate. This position suits esports enthusiasts who have a strong understanding of publishing metrics and web-based editorial.

Our ideal candidate already has a deep national and/or international esports editorial/freelancer network and previous experience in content publishing.

You should:

  • Be fluent in English. Another language would be a plus
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have experience managing a web-based editorial team
  • Have previous experience in gaming or esports
  • Maintain a deep and up to date knowledge on best SEO practices, keyword management and trends
  • Be organised and love to be part of a team
  • Be a strong team player
  • Live and breathe esports, especially the FGC!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High computer literacy including Office suite with the ability to learn new tools quickly
  • 2-4 years of journalism experience
  • 1+ years of editorial experience
  • Have a strong understanding of the FGC, relevant influencers, events, etc.
  • Ability to deal with 30, sometimes crazy, often fun, colleagues in a very international environment!
