We are looking for a knowledgeable & experienced racing game journalist to join our RacingGames team to produce content and help drive an audience to RacingGames.GG.
The ideal candidate will be a gamer at heart who loves racing. From Gran Turismo to Assetto Corsa and iRacing, we are looking for an editor that knows the space, can spot upcoming trends, and knows instinctively what readers will be searching for on a daily basis.
Editorial experience will be crucial, with a strong understanding of SEO as well as a well-developed individual voice that brings new insights and opinions to our team.
You will be working alongside the Editor-in-Chief every day to create and curate content across a range of racing and vehicle-based games and be responsible for the continued growth site.
Contract
- 35 hours per week, 9:30-5:30 UK time (includes flexibility to cover live events)
- Competitive salary
- Day-to-day remote – access to London occasionally required
- Must be aged 18 or older
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Producing opinion-led feature content around the sim racing genre
- Covering game updates and news
- Create strong SEO content
- Develop new avenues of traffic
- Cover esports tournaments & events
- Interview personalities and developers in the racing community
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Experience writing about games is a must
- Excellent knowledge of SEO best practice. Knowing how to craft fantastic headlines based on key trends and understanding how to weave this insight into the body copy
- SEO-first mentality. Able to spot an angle for a story off the back of a news announcement; or answering key queries that readers may encounter whilst playing games or waiting for future updates
- Flawless written and verbal communication - Communication is key for working remote
- Able to work fast and efficiently - reacting quickly to changes and breaking news developments as they happen
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to self-manage and create content in a timely manner
- A people person. Candidate must be able to keep comms up, give/take directions well and form relationships with PR industry
- Able to be fully flexible with working hours to cover news shifts around key events where required
- Basic adobe suite skills also a bonus, but not essential
- Experience with Social platforms also a bonus, specifically when posting through brand accounts
