Gearbox Software is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Spark team. Spark is a platform and online game engine supporting both internal and external titles. In this role, you would be leading efforts to design, build and maintain RESTful services, serverless applications and websites as they relate to our retail and ecommerce program.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop highly available server functionality and single page applications.
• Work with gift card program staff to identify work and see it to completion.
• Help team leads identify technology requirements and project risks.
• Maintain platform documentation.
• Contribute to code reviews.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing backend services that scale to millions of users.
• Working experience with a frontend framework like Angular or React.
• Working experience with at least one backend language like Ruby, Python, Java or Go.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or another major cloud provider.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Passion for software development and OO Design.
• Familiarity with various database technologies (we use MySQL)

Bonus Points for:

• Working experience with serverless / lambdas.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Multiple platform development experience (Linux, Windows, OSX)
