This internship is only open to a 2024 graduate, rising senior.

The Gearbox summer audio internship will encompass a 12 week period during the summer of 2023. In that period, the audio intern will develop game audio experience in a professional setting working in sound design, music, VO, and recording. Our audio intern will have an opportunity to contribute original sound design for a variety of different projects while learning about the inner workings of music systems, editing recording sessions, and participating in the voice recording process.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement original sound design assets for our upcoming projects.

  • Assist in foley and field recording sessions with proper COVID safety precautions being adhered to.

  • Edit and tag metadata in SoundMiner from recording sessions.

  • Attend and edit voice recording sessions in a remote environment.

  • Attend music implementation and mixing sessions in a remote environment.

Requirements:

  • An all-encompassing passion for interactive audio.

  • Basic understanding of audio middleware and Unreal Engine.

  • Basic understanding of how to create original audio content via a DAW such as Reaper, ProTools, Ableton, Nuendo, etc…

  • Ability to work remotely and create/edit audio assets in a remote environment.

  • Be located in the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex
