We are looking for a Statistician / Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist who is also a Statis Statistician, you be part of our CMI (Consumer and Market Insights) team, who leads the execution of research projects for other markets, apart from Brazil, and will act supporting other key areas, such as product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing company data.

This role will be leading the mission of driving business results with data-based insights, being comfortable about working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. This role should also prove a great ability for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets to improve business outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of quantitative analysis and methods, application of statistical and mathematical models, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations.

Job Description

  • Generate consumer insights so Garena can generate learning to refine its brand strategies and product positioning;
  • Implement advanced application concepts and methods, using or developing the appropriate statistical or mathematical methods and/or techniques and managing the contributions of the team associated with the project;
  • Build analysis based on Garena's game databases, demonstrating the evolution of our players' profile and mapping behavior trends;
  • Treat, aggregate, prepare and model internal data and data from surveys;
  • Identify the most effective way to approach different business problems through descriptive analysis and statistical methodologies;
  • Optimize processes related to data analysis through the development of tools and automations;
  • Clearly convey complex analysis results, building dashboards to visualize data when and produce reports that meet stakeholder requirements.

Job Requirements

  • BA in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years professional work experience in data processing or as a Statistics, especially in the Market Research, and/or analyzing large data sets;
  • Familiarity with statistical methodologies (regressions, decision trees, clustering, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)
  • Knowledge of some quantitative research methodologies and its applications (MaxDiff, Conjoint Analysis, etc.).
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets;
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, SPSS, Power BI, Shiny and/or Tableau;
  • Proficiency in English for writing and speaking;
  • Demonstrated accuracy of analysis results;
  • To be a gamer or passionate about the gaming universe.
