Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the key studio stakeholders to explore, develop and define all aesthetics and creative content for the game
  • Visualize the overarching visual treatment for the game is in line with the tastes and preferences of the intended target audience
  • Drive delivery of and direct all in-game art (2D & 3D) from concept to final delivery on the target platform
  • Ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery of all visuals in the game
  • Create and document all required UI, Art, and animation style guides into one comprehensive Art Bible for the game
  • Identify and develop 2D and 3D art asset creation pipelines
  • Mentor and develop the talent and skill sets of the current team
  • Work with both co-located and off-site team members to direct Art at the project level
  • Bring the vision of the game concept pitch to life

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in Art Production, with 5+ years in a leadership role managing and delivering high fidelity art projects
  • Proven art chops - Impress us with a portfolio that stands leagues above your competition
  • Strong knowledge of core creative skills (traditional art foundation) as well as technical art skills (rigging, lighting, shaders)
  • Knowledge of Art production requirements for various stages in a game's development (concept and pre-production through to release and live-ops)
  • Experience managing and tracking projects in Jira, Trello, Hansoft, or any other project management tool
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to build respectful work relations within the team, across a wide spectrum of team members
  • Superb creative, analytical and critical thinking skills

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience running art production for games on mobile
  • Shipped mobile or console game titles
  • Experience taking a game, movie, or animated show from a pitch-deck to a worldwide launch
  • Enjoyed playing mobile games across different genres and differing art styles
  • Are able to translate abstract feedback from non-artistic end-users into actionable tasks
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of visual trends for mobile and console games
