SEO Expert / Specialist

We are a growing video game website looking for a freelance (remote) SEO Specialist / Expert.

The mission of our website is to create high-quality video game Guides, Articles, Databases, and How-To.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone that follows SEO trends and algorithms with plenty of prior experience as a SEO Specialist, and that is also passionate and knowledgeable about gaming.

We are looking for someone that can not only provide suggestions or recommendations, but also actually be the one to implement the adjustments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct keyword research (video game niche) to guide the content team and help create a content strategy
• Set up the website to appear on Google News and Google Discover (addressing any requirement or technical issues)
• Prepare the website to be fully compliant for the Google Page Experience Update of May 2021
• Review technical SEO issues and implement fixes and optimizations
• Help improve the website score on Google Lighthouse and the search performance of the website, continuously applying SEO best practices
• Help implement a well-formed Sitemap (Joomla site)
• Collect data and report on traffic, rankings and other SEO aspects

Characteristics & Skills:

• Plenty of experience as SEO Specialist
• Deep understanding of SEO best practices and current/future trends
• Familiarity with relevant SEO Tools, algorithms and analytics
• Good knowledge and passion about video games
• Experience with SEO reporting
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Bonus (not required): Experience working with Joomla websites and JSitemap
