Hey gamer people!

We here at Gamer’s Waypoint are looking for passionate writers to join our team.

We cover everything from reviews to news to features, however our motto is basically β€œwrite what you want!”

We do not believe in scoring systems or trying to attach statistical understanding where games are concerned, as everyone has different genre tastes and plays games at their own pace. We value all games and want people on board who feel the same. If you wish to write a piece that’s a retro review about a game released back in the β€˜80s? Go for it! Found an indie game you think is spectacular on Steam that only has a few players? Write about it! Our mission on the site is to bring attention to all video games, especially the ones that you love, and so we encourage our writers to express their love of video games in any written format they wish. Just as long as it contributes to a bigger picture and not a narrow-minded opinion!

We’re not just about video games either, if you enjoy tabletop games or D&D campaigns you are welcome to write about those too, as well as join us in any campaigns that are currently going on.

We are still a small website that is hoping to grow through showcasing people’s interest in games and their writing talents. We also have a nice little Discord community that regularly discusses games just for fun, and is very happy to help if you have any creative questions.

Due to the fact that this is currently a small group of people working together we unfortunately cannot offer any monetary compensation at this time and it will be a voluntary position, but if you enjoy writing and want to tell the world about what you have love playing, then we think it will be the place for you!

If you are interested, please send the following to us at the email attached below:

  • Your name
  • Age
  • Location (just so we know for time zone purposes)
  • What your favourite game is + why you love it
  • What you are currently playing
  • A little information about yourself and why you think you would be a good fit for GW

If you happen to have a portfolio with previous experience, please feel free to send that along too if you would like us to check it out!

There are only a few things we would ask of you if you were to join the GW crew:

  • Have a good grasp of the English language and excellent written skills
  • Submit work to a high standard
  • Don’t write pieces just to slate a game, give a balanced opinion and explanation
  • Be honest with us

We hope that you will consider joining our group and look forward to hearing about your favourite games!
