Job Description

  • Gameloft Montreal is looking for a World Designer to work on site (remote work is also a possibility) with our interactive story team on an innovative cross platform narrative-driven game.
  • The narrative designer will be responsible for conveying their vision regarding the game’s narrative elements.
  • The narrative designer role will primarily involve creating, overseeing, and implementing narrative content in close collaboration with the game designers and the production team, under the direction of the game director.
  • The narrative designer may also be asked to write dialogue and in-game text, and implement them with our tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting in the development of compelling story content consistent with the design philosophy and vision for the game
  • Conceiving scenarios, missions and objectives tied to larger story goals
  • Assisting in the development of stories with compelling, multifaceted characters that have strong motivations and consistent dramatic arcs
  • Demonstrating the capacity to mix strong narrative layers with systemic features and balance them

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for video games
  • A degree in creative writing, theatre, film, or a related field, and or video games
  • Professional experience as a writer in the video-game industry for minimum 7 years
  • Have shipped one or more game title with narrative-driven content
  • Complete mastery of the English language, including grammar and editing
  • Proven aptitude for writing compelling stories aimed at a primarily female audience
  • The ability to craft sharp, clear dialogue for diverse target audiences
  • Extensive knowledge of interactive storytelling, plot, and structure
  • A strong ability to communicate ideas through verbal, written and visual means
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a rapidly changing, fast-paced creative environment
  • A collaborative spirit and a love of teamwork
  • A creative imagination and the ability to think outside the box
