Job Description

Gameloft Sofia, in collaboration with Disney, is thrilled to present Disney Speedstorm, an exciting new multiplatform racing game. We are seeking a talented and imaginative Senior Level Designer to create captivating and immersive levels for this dynamic gaming experience. By leveraging your expertise and industry best practices, you will shape the player journey, crafting innovative and engaging levels that elevate gameplay.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design balanced, immersive, and engaging levels with strong pacing, progression, and player objectives for cross-platform games

  • Collaborate with art and development teams to ensure timely delivery and quality

  • Document and analyze levels, comparing them with industry benchmarks for improvements

  • Maintain and update comprehensive design documentation throughout the project lifecycle

  • Develop sketches, prototypes, and visuals to communicate design concepts effectively

  • Create style guides, drawing inspiration from broad knowledge in history, literature, science, and entertainment, contributing to the project’s overall aesthetic and gameplay vision

  • Stay updated on trends in console and mobile gaming, applying relevant insights to projects

  • Iterate on designs using feedback to enhance gameplay

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a level designer for action games with at least one published title

  • Expertise in level design principles: visibility, space creation, pacing, progression, and difficulty balancing

  • Solid knowledge of game design concepts: learning curves, reward loops, accessibility, and control ergonomics

  • Proficient with level editors (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, or in-house tools) and 3D software (Blender, Maya, 3DS Max)

  • Basic scripting skills (LUA, JS, etc.) for prototyping and iterating ideas

  • Strong visual creativity with the ability to illustrate concepts using tools like Photoshop, SketchUp, or PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with console and freemium mobile games, flagship titles, and their audiences

  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken

  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and work as part of a team

  • Open to feedback and proactive in improving designs for the best quality gameplay experience
