Job Description

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced lead game designer to develop game systems, social mechanics, and monetization for our new PC/console cross platform games .

Ideally, the candidate will have experience in one of the following genres: RPGs, FPSes, or strategy games.

  • Handling detailed conceptualization and development of the game and the design documents
  • Developing social mechanics and game modes to improve engagement and retention
  • Developing game systems
  • Keeping all project documents up to date and regularly updating all facets of the game to maintain quality
  • Maintaining a high level of communication and monitoring across the various departments
  • Creating prototypes and exploring new game ideas
  • Conducting R&D and market research, creating new game concepts, suggesting new ideas
  • Identifying strategies to perfect gameplay
  • Improving and updating the controls, camera, and character animations
  • Improving the different phases of the game: movement, fights, puzzles

Qualifications

Skills

  • Experience in game development, with at least one game published professionally
  • Experience designing game levels and coordinating intra-game events is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of PC -Console game market
  • Knowledge of Mobile F2P games a plus
  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Considerable experience with multimedia software (Office, Adobe/Macromedia)
  • Experience with prototyping tools (Flash, Unity, Virtools, GameMaker, etc.)
  • Familiarity with 3ds Max, Maya, SketchUp, or other 3D design software

Profile

  • Passion for video games (including mobile games)
  • Interest in games' QA and fine-tuning phases
  • Good understanding of scripting and/or basic programming
  • Ability to present one's ideas (verbally and in writing), a professional attitude, and an ability to learn independently
  • Proven leadership skills
