Job Description

As a Lead Level Designer you will work closely with the Level Design team, Game Designers, Environment Artists and Gameplay Programmers to help them implement all interactive content in games. The successful candidate will mainly participate in producing and designing levels, as well as script all gameplay elements within.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Level Designers working on a game project
  • Strong involvement in the creative vision for the game especially as it pertains to it’s level design philosophy
  • Have strong oversight over the technical aspects of the level design production workflow
  • Participate in the integration of all interactive elements (images, animations, sounds, gameplay, etc.) directly or delegating
  • Define the locations of interactive objects and enemies
  • Create a list of useful tools for level design
  • Create a strict nomenclature to simplify group work
  • Double-check all content added to games to ensure quality and conformity

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of multiple script languages
  • Good knowledge of game editors (Unreal and Unity)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office and game prototype creation
  • Passion for video games and their history
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling software
  • Knowledge of 3D animation methods
  • Able to learn how to use new development tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and methodology
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the processes involved in creating video games
  • Good communication skills and able to work in a team
  • Fluent in English an asset
