Gameloft Montreal is seeking a new Lead Level and Quest Designer to join the team working on DISNEY DREAMLIGHT VALLEY, a brand cross-platform hybrid life-sim/adventure game already in early access! Rich with quests, exploration, and engaging activities featuring iconic Disney and Pixar friends, Disney Dreamlight Valley is a 100%-original Gameloft Montreal production, designed by a passionate team just waiting for you to join them!

The Lead Level and Quest Designer will work closely with the Creative Director to define and evolve the future direction of Disney Dreamlight Valley. The person will also be responsible for supporting and guiding their team members with the creation of the game's various levels and quests.

Main Tasks

  • Working closely with the production team, particularly the creative director and narrative lead, to define and evolve the direction of quests and levels

  • Collaborating actively with the lead technical designer to suggest improvements to level designers' work

  • Joining forces with the lead designer to provide new game elements to use in quests

  • Providing mentoring and coaching to the various production team members that are involved in aspects of level design

  • Being a positive leader at the heart of your team

  • Maintaining constant communication and regularly following up with the various departments

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years' professional experience in level design

  • Experience in a leadership role is an asset

  • Excellent knowledge of the game market

  • Good communication skills and an interest in the management role, professional support and work of a team lead

  • At least one title published on console/PC while in a game design role

  • Diploma of College Studies in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Video Games or equivalent

  • English-French bilingualism is an asset

  • Considerable experience with multimedia software (Office, Adobe, Atlassian)

Skills and Profile

  • Significant knowledge of the worlds of Disney and Pixar

  • Able to work in Agile mode, not afraid of failure, and able to bounce back quickly, if necessary

  • Able to make decisions in a complex environment

  • Open-minded and empathetic

  • Ability to take on a leadership role while continuing to hold an operational role on the project

  • Passion for video games and their history

  • Ability to present one's ideas (verbally and in writing)

  • Enjoy teamwork

  • A big imagination!
