We are seeking a talented technical lead programming to join our team to contribute their skills to our Dungeons & Dragons® PC/Console project. This innovative game will blend the features of Action-RPG / Survival with unique elements of life-simulation games to redefine the genre and capture the imaginations of players worldwide.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team, setting technical standards, ensuring code quality, and collaborating closely with other departments to deliver exceptional games. This is a leadership position that requires a blend of strong technical skills and the ability to mentor and inspire a team of developers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Define and drive the technical direction of game development projects, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions are implemented.
Team Management: Mentor and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Architecture & Code Quality: Design and implement robust and scalable game architecture. Conduct regular code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with design, art, and production teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment of project goals.
Problem Solving: Identify potential risks and technical challenges, providing strategic solutions to ensure smooth project progression.
Technology Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in game development, and evaluate new tools and techniques for implementation.
Performance Optimization: Ensure game stability, performance, and optimization across various platforms (PC, console, mobile).
Project Planning: Contribute to project planning, including scoping, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Qualifications
8+ years of professional game development experience, with at least 4 years in a lead or senior engineering role.
Proficiency in C#. Strong understanding of game engines like Unity, Unreal Engine, or custom engines (Unity preferably).
Proven track record of leading teams, mentoring developers, and making critical technical decisions.
Experience with multi-platform game development (PC, console, mobile).
Ability to work effectively with designers, artists, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Strong analytical and debugging skills. Ability to navigate complex technical issues and provide clear solutions.
Deep understanding of game mechanics, player experiences, and an appreciation for innovative gameplay design.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud-based services, networking, and multiplayer game development.
Knowledge of graphics programming, physics, AI, and other core game development disciplines.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
