The Funcom team consists of over 200 people located in 3 different studios in Europe and the US. With headquarters in Oslo, the team includes visionary programmers, artists, animators, community supporters, designers, and everyone in between, who all strive to deliver the very best.

Now, our Core Tech department in Oslo needs a Junior Tools Programmer to help extend and improve our tools which are used by all internal game teams.

Your Mission in Funcom

In this position you will develop new tools to increase productivity of the game teams, as well as help improve and extend existing tools and backend systems. This could involve writing extensions to the unreal editor such as asset validation, working with the unreal build and automation tools or writing standalone tools such as a game item creation/management tool.

This is a position where the right candidate will have the chance to work end to end in exciting projects and new tools to facilitate development of our in-house games. As a Tools Programmer at Funcom, you will use your experience to improve both the quality and robustness of the code, as well as improve the end user experiences.

We are looking for someone that has:

  • Experienced with JavaScript and Python or C#
  • Experience in relational databases (such as PostgreSQL)
  • Desire and ability to write clear documentation for the end users
  • Strong communication skills (English is our working language)

Experience with any of the following is a bonus:

  • Experience with full stack web development
  • Experience working with source control
  • Experience with nix based operating systems
  • Knowledge of container based development
