The Senior Engineering Manager role
As a Senior Engineering Manager on Frostbite, you will
- You will report to a Senior Director of Engineering in Frostbite.
- You will hire, motivate, and manage engineers to implement the Frostbite product roadmap.
- Manage retention, efficiency, and overall sustainable team health.
- You will grow individual's careers by providing feedback, coaching and mentoring
- Promote collaboration, code quality, and best practices
- Coach teams to become highly effective, using agile principles and practices
- Identify, coach, grow and support leaders within the team
- Have a strong sense of accountability and awareness of how the work of the team impacts the games and players
- Foster a culture of diversity to empower teams by encouraging an inclusive environment where all opinions are heard
- Work with Frostbite leaders to plan development work, monitor workload, and communicate progress against commitments
- Collaborate with Engineers on the team, Technical Directors, Product Owners, Program Managers and other Engineering Managers
Qualifications
- You have 7 years of hands-on experience developing software in an Agile environment
- You have 5 or more years of leading software teams
- You have experience managing engineers as direct reports
- You have demonstrated a servant leadership mindset in your teams
- You have experience with Agile project management methodologies
- You have experience working in engineering teams combining practical R&D and product delivery and support, ideally in the rendering domain.
Pluses
- Experience in game development, game engine work and C++
- Understanding of modern computer graphics, APIs and techniques.
