Frostbite is EA's state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine, powering games such as Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, Plants vs. Zombies, Need for Speed, Anthem, and Star Wars Battlefront II.

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager for the Network team, part of the Core Systems Product Area of Frostbite.

The mission of the Network team is to develop the Frostbite engine’s network stack, which enables game creators to build amazing multiplayer experiences for our players.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Engineering Director of the Core Systems Product Area
  • Lead your team to deliver commitments including features and KPIs
  • Hire, onboard, and coach team members to reach their full potential
  • Align recognition with the performance of the team members
  • Promote collaboration, code quality, and engineering best practices
  • Partner with the team members in creating career paths and personal development plans
  • Understand that diversity empowers teams and foster an inclusive environment where all opinions are heard
  • Identify the resource requirements to meet goals and guide team planning
  • Bring new value using Agile development practices in a distributed development environment
  • Work with stakeholders to manage development work, monitor workload, and communicate progress against commitments
  • Create and help implement process and engineering practices improvements for the team

We're Looking for:

  • Experience leading software teams and with full-spectrum line management of engineers
  • Hands-on experience in having developed software in an Agile environment
  • Servant leadership mindset and focus on people wellbeing
  • Adaptability, multitasking and ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment
  • Familiarity with different models of software development life cycles
  • You have used and promoted CI/CD pipelines and proper testing processes
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies
  • Experience with online gaming technology and network stacks is desired but not required
