Purpose of the role

The IT Deployment Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day requirements of hardware and software deployment across Frontier. Managing a team of passionate and dedicated IT professions, you will ensure that all tasks such as new starter equipment build and distribution, planned upgrades, hardware imaging, and ad-hoc tech requests are planned and delivered on time and to the highest service levels.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of IT Deployment Engineers responsible for the building and distribution of hardware and software across the business
  • Plan team work-load distribution on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring tasks are prioritised and completed on time
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory and legislative tasks are undertaken, such as electrical safety checks / PAT tests on computer equipment
  • Take an active leading role in the mapping and feasibility of new technology roll-out across the business
  • Plan and support rolling and impromptu upgrades for current staff
  • Support in the day-to-day tasks of the team, such as building machines for new starters, create user accounts, imaging hardware to user needs, manually installing software and licensing etc
  • Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting of more complex issues
  • Manage / maintain inventory levels for both hardware and software, work with Head of IT and purchasing to ensure levels are in line.
  • Liaise with Operations to establish priority

About you

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an IT department. Experience within the gaming or technology industry would be an added bonus
  • Previous working experience of line managing a team
  • Proven experience of managing and prioritising multiple and competing tasks, ensuring workload is distributed amongst the team and tasks are completed satisfactorily and on time
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and associated peripherals
  • Excellent analytical problem solving skills
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, and ability to communicate with various stakeholders
  • There will be a requirement for lifting IT equipment such as PCs, printers, monitors and other associated hardware

Qualifications, skills & experience

Essential

  • Solid experience and knowledge of working within a Windows environment Windows 7-10, Windows Server 2008R-2016
  • Practical knowledge of PC hardware and associated peripherals to component level
  • Good all round experience of PC hardware maintenance and repairs
  • Good understanding of computer networking including wireless
  • Exposure to Windows Server Active Directory Administration Tools

Desirable:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent in experience.
  • Experience of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) environments
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, including the creation of user accounts and modifying of user groups and security settings
  • Exposure to and understanding Software deployment and patch management
  • Exposure to deployment solutions, such as MDT, Clonezilla, SCCM etc.
  • Experience of working in a game or other development environment would be a bonus
