Frontier Developments are the studio behind Jurassic World Evolution, Elite Dangerous, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo. We are Britain’s biggest independent publisher and developer of videogames, based among the world-leading technology cluster in the historic city of Cambridge, England.
As a Game Writer, you will be responsible for creating player-facing text for our new Formula 1 title. This is a key role to help create the ‘Drive to Survive’ feel, but also to clearly communicate gameplay concepts.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience in creating first versions of text, editing and have a real passion for Formula 1 and Games in general. You will help be responsible for the creating the tone and style of the text for our first Formula 1 title!
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with UI Designers to ensure text is appropriate for the game's interfaces.
- Create first versions of text, some being player facing text.
- Able to check and edit text.
- Work closely with Game Designers to create text.
- Create immersive and informative text, which you will need to maintain through development.
- Bug fixing and amending grammatical errors.
- Help create a ‘Drive to Survive’ feel in the game.
- Create technical, but clear, information within the game.
About you:
- A big fan of Formula 1 and racing, ideally with knowledge and understanding of Formula 1 terminology.
- You will need to be passionate about quality communication and who our audience is.
- Experience in owning text for a game.
- Have a background in/or understanding of wider Game Design.
- Have a good attention to detail and adaptable writing style.
- Be a passionate gamer.
