Overview:

Reporting to the Production Vice-President, the Senior Producer is responsible for the delivery of projects under his direction in terms of product quality, according to the established deadlines and profitability, and must ensure effective and optimal communication with partners in order to meet Frima's customer service quality standards. He is also responsible for the management of human resources under his responsibility and to ensure the development of internal succession, the progression of Producers, Associate Producers and Project Coordinators through mentoring and coaching on the various projects he is in charge of. He contributes to the implementation of best practices in project management, the optimization of processes and he is establishing his department's strategic orientations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, in collaboration with his team, the projects' needs, define the work plan and establish priorities;
  • Assume a consulting role with partners and the Business Development team to clarify needs and expectations and validate the defined plan;
  • Establish, in collaboration with producers, the production guideline for each game under his responsibility and monitor it;
  • Establish the planning of the workforce required on the projects under his responsibility according to the expertise needs and project milestones and collaborate with the Workforce Planning Department and other Senior Producers to ensure the availability of skills and resources;
  • Make optimal use of resources on projects and throughout the studio through excellent collaboration and effective resource planning on each project according to skills requirements, sound use of tools and good communication with the other expertise managers and Workforce Planning Director;
  • Ensure excellent communications and business relations with the clients and partners of the projects under his responsibility in collaboration with the Producers and Associate Producers under his leadership;
  • Validate the quality and consistency of all game elements throughout the production process (according to established standards) with the Producer responsible for the project as well as the client;
  • Follow up on the Stage gates to ensure the progress of the projects within budget, on time and with quality according to Frima's standards of excellence;
  • Conduct risk analysis on projects and offer solutions, in collaboration with the production team, in order to deal with possible delays and budget overruns, technical problems, etc. and ensure follow-up with management;
  • Collaborate and ensure the follow-up, application and control of the orientations, objectives and directives given by the production management;
  • Participate in establishing a management culture that mobilizes the expertise unit by collaborating in the implementation of processes that ensure team cohesion, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in the expertise between Senior Producers, Producers, Associate Producers and Project Coordinators;
  • Ensure sound management of human resources, Producers, Associate Producers and Project Coordinators under his leadership (training plan, skills development and career management, support his managers in completing talent management reviews in order to optimize performance management, workforce planning, staffing, etc.);
  • Prepare and facilitate, in collaboration with the Producers and Associate Producers on his projects, monthly project status review meetings (PSR) related to his current projects;
  • Provide leadership on the various continuous improvement projects of his expertise unit and ensure their implementation within his team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, project management or other relevant field related to video game development;
  • Recognized project management certification will be considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant project management experience in the video game industry or in a similar field;
  • Diversified experience on projects of different sizes and on different platforms;
  • Bilingualism required;
  • Very good knowledge of management tools such as Jira, 10,000ft, Confluence, Excel/Google Sheets.
