As Fnatic's Country Lead in Japan, you'll spearhead our efforts to embed Fnatic as the premiere esports performance brand, and build out our commercial proposition from products through to brand partnerships.

You'll work closely with our local esports team leadership (Rainbow Six) to develop growth opportunities for the Fnatic brand, and leverage your local expertise and network to bring global initiatives to light with a uniquely Japanese flavour.

This is a career-defining opportunity for someone who is a proven brand-builder to turn Fnatic a household name in an exciting new market as we continue our global expansion.

Your mission is to:

  • Develop Fnatic's Japan go-to-market strategy with the goal of becoming the leading esport performance brand in Japan
  • Develop Fnatic's Japan business plan, including hiring plan in social, content and partnerships
  • Oversee the development of Japanese-focused content (and localised channels where appropriate) across the likes of Twitch, Twitter, Line, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Develop Fnatic's Japanese brand partnerships offering, from signing and managing new regional partners, as well as supporting the global partnerships team to sign new global partnerships from Japan
  • Manage in-market activations for Fnatic's global brand partners, and create new opportunities to expand existing global relationships with Japan-centric offerings
  • Define the mix of apparel, gear and digital products appropriate for the market, and support our wholesale partner to maximise consumer product sales in Japan
  • Lead the creation of our Japan gaming facility hand in hand with our local Rainbow Six Team Director, and oversee it's ongoing operation
  • Ad-hoc projects as defined by Fnatic's Executive team

We're looking for:

  • Experience in building consumer focused brands in Japan, ideally in sport or gaming
  • Understanding of trends in youth culture and media consumption in Japan
  • Strategic thinking on how brands can engage with audiences balanced with maximising return on a variety of assets
  • Proven sales ability and understanding of how to value and present digital media properties
  • Understanding of trends in youth culture and media consumption in Japan
  • Relentless energy and drive to push team to overdeliver on targets
  • A compelling presenter who can articulate a strong vision
  • Comfort with data and ability to present insights articulately
  • Creativity and ability to participate in ideation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Japanese and English
