First Contact Entertainment is seeking a well-rounded senior concept artist to join our Art Department. The ideal candidate has experience working on AAA titles, has a passion for gaming, and has the ability to create immersive and story-driven environments & character designs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the Art Director & Lead Concept Artist to visualize environments, characters, props and vfx concepts for various projects.
• Create detailed concepts over level block-outs from initial sketch to final illustration.
• Create turn-arounds & spec-sheets with well detailed notes and call-outs for various Art Department needs.
• Ability to manage and provide feedback to 3D production artists.
• Ability to research, analyze and gather reference for a variety of subject matters & genres.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience creating high quality concept art and illustration for film or games.
• Exceptional understanding of Adobe Photoshop or equivalent digital painting program.
• Strong understanding of foundation art principles including: lighting, composition, color theory, perspective, anatomy, architecture and graphic design.
• Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design, or equivalent work experience.
• Exceptional 2D portfolio demonstrating desired skills.
• Must be currently eligible to work in the USA for any employer.
• Experience creating high quality concepts for a variety of art department disciplines (environments, characters, storyboards, props, vfx, etc.)​​

DESIRED SKILLS

• Knowledge of 3D software & game development pipeline.
• Experience navigating Unreal Engine 4.
• Experience in developing multiplayer video games and/or VR titles.
