Today, there are five games available for purchase: Exploding Kittens, Bears vs Babies, You’ve Got Crabs, Throw Throw Burrito, and On a Scale of One to T-Rex, as well as an Exploding Kittens mobile app that is one of the top 30 premium games on both iOS and Android.

Exploding Kittens is seeking to hire a Marketing Director to join our growing and fast-paced team. You will work with our executive team to develop and deliver a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business. Your duties will include managing marketing operations, building the marketing team for the company, assessing and improving existing initiatives, and devising new strategies to increase revenue. You will oversee all aspects of marketing including content creation, retargeting, media planning, agency relationships, live events, marketing partnerships, and PR, while implementing goals and measuring analytics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute 2020 marketing plan based upon annual goals to help Exploding Kittens achieve forecasted revenue growth for 2020
  • Going forward, develop the marketing strategy for new and existing products
  • Oversee implementation of the marketing strategy, including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR
  • Creating a tracking system that provides regular reporting to the management team on marketing ROI and performance
  • Work closely with the company’s sales and product teams to enable them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with the appropriate tools, materials, and presentations
  • Build and oversee a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals and grow and develop the company’s in-house marketing team
  • Manage the company’s social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new marketing partners both nationally and internationally that will use the Exploding Kittens IP in creative ways that are strategically on brand and will drive awareness and sales
  • Expand the Exploding Kittens licensing program to fuel brand awareness and revenue
  • Manage the marketing budget and make recommendations to the management team
  • Conduct market research and stay abreast of competitor positioning
  • Contribute to new business development initiatives

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field; a Master's degree in marketing or related field or an MBA is highly desirable
  • Ten years’ experience in a related field, and a proven and demonstrable track record of success in senior marketing roles
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities
  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing techniques and platforms
  • Specific and substantial experience in developing and managing digital marketing campaigns (Amazon, Google, Facebook, etc.) including A/B testing and optimization
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing a marketing team
  • In-depth understanding of all aspects of marketing, including brand awareness, digital (paid and organic), influencer, and live events
  • Competency in software such as Google Drive and Excel, and ability to learn new platforms quickly
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, numerical abilities, and a problem-solving attitude
  • High level of emotional intelligence and literacy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • High service orientation, hands-on mentality, and attention to detail
  • Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Frequent domestic and international travel
