Role:

Evil Geniuses is looking for a results-oriented Senior Gaming People Partner (Senior HRBP) to join our growing People Team Department.

Reporting into the People Team Director, this role will work closely with Gaming leadership within the Gaming department as well as the People Team and Culture Team within Evil Geniuses and the Shared Services HR Teams at our parent company, Peak6.

The Senior Gaming People Partner will support across the entire talent lifecycle ensuring all team members within each competitive team have an experience that is representative of our core values. They will focus on how to help Gaming work together efficiently through modernized people programs that provide support while connecting them to the broader Evil Geniuses organization. This role will be accountable for onboarding/offboarding, contracts, health and wellness programs, immigration, and day to day support for Gaming and will also partner with the learning and development team to identify learning needs and programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Building relationships with gaming leadership, team members, and within the People organization across our parent company, PEAK6, shared services and Evil Geniuses
  • Develop a world class onboarding and offboarding experience for our players, coaches and staff in gaming connecting it back to the broader EG programming
  • Work with gaming and the learning development leader to create education programs that set the players and coaches up for success
  • With gaming manage the free agency cycle ensuring contracts are setup properly and players and coaches are onboarded properly
  • In partnership with Gaming, Learning and Development, and the Director of People, create a world class player experience that engages the players and coaches to the broader EG
  • Develop health and wellness, DEI and other programs to support the players and coaches
  • Managing and resolving complex team members relations issues. Conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Providing day to day performance management and policy guidance to business leaders (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions).
  • Developing and implementing change management strategies to support critical evolution of the business and achieve desired business results that are sustainable over time.
  • In partnership with the HR Operations team, own and maintain team members hard and electronic files, including accurate form collection by employment type, regular I-9 and team members agreement audits, ensure compliance with state and federal laws

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Understanding of gaming and esports landscape
  • Proven partnership ability – both strategist and practitioner of people programs – with a strong track record of successfully implementing people programs and initiatives
  • Understanding of talent contracts
  • Ability to flex style between the needs of our teams
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and peers is essential
  • Detail oriented
  • Hands-on builder with demonstrated tactical abilities who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Ability to facilitate and coach business leaders and their leadership teams
  • Ability to problem solve, manage conflict, and build relationships with people at all levels of an organization
