As the Senior Manager - Business Development, you will be a crucial component of the broader Evil Geniuses team, and within the Corporate Partnership team, you will be an integral part of creating first-to-market partnerships. The Corporate Partnerships team strives to blend insights and data to achieve solutions that unlock value for partners. This person will be responsible for contributing to the sales effort from beginning to end, reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Sponsorships, and bringing on partners in traditional and non-traditional categories.

This person must thrive in the fast paced, ever changing ecosystem of esports. A start-up, boots-on-the-ground mindset is key, with the drive to succeed with pacing to a set budget. The ideal Business Development Manager will have 6-8+ years of experience selling six-figure and seven-figure sponsorships in sports or entertainment with a demonstrated interest in esports.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace, and cultivate individual and group sales goals
  • Listen, understand, and translate the business needs of a potential partner into tangible business solutions through Evil Geniuses assets
  • Be familiar with all stages of the sales process including:
    • Source, identify and engage with potential partners for meetings/discussions
    • Development of crisp, clean, and clear presentations
    • Translate feedback into deal terms
    • Engage in and advance negotiations to closure
    • Navigate long form contracts
  • Work across all business units within the Evil Geniuses organization and convey partner business needs to cultivate concepts, ideas and assets
  • Experience in understanding current trends, ability to forecast future trends, and mine applicable categories for reasons to believe for future partners
  • Ability to utilize existing published research and engage with research partners to identify compelling insights and data to guide partnership discussions
  • Ability to maintain relationships with decision makers regardless of whether they are a partner or not
  • Maintain and track internal tools/CRM and resources for lead generation, pipeline tracking and budget pacing
  • Never stop pushing yourself, the team and those around you to raise the level of excellence within the organization and the industry

Requirements

  • Driven by a sales goals and proven ability to exceed those goals
  • Thrive as an independent contributor
  • 6 - 8 years experience of selling sponsorships
  • A starter and a finisher: Ability to manage and execute a sales process from beginning to end
  • Ability to story-tell effectively including the design, development and polishing of presentations
  • Quick thinker with capacity to respond, retort, and turn a "no" into a "yes"
  • Ability to communicate crisply, concisely and accurately
  • Experience engaging, courting, communicating, presenting and influencing all levels of the organization (C-Suite and down)
  • Experience interacting with a diverse team including marketers, sales, creatives and tech
  • Compassion, empathy, and ability to actively listen to spoken and unspoken cues
  • Established network of decision makers
