Esports Wales is looking for a passionate, high energy mod to join our community team. Esports Wales mods are the core of our efforts to keep Esports Wales a welcoming and safe place for people to play games and improve their esports ability. Youโ€™ll be an essential element of trust and safetyโ€™s efforts, helping to foster the community.

Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Thatโ€™s in addition to the qualities of professionalism, initiative, and sound decision making we look for in all manager candidates.

The moderators are responsible for applying the community rules and removing posts.

Responsibilities.

  • Implement the online community moderation strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across Esports Wales to ensure its effectiveness and providing quality of customer service and support to our community with the help of various communication tools
  • Review and moderate all user-generated content and user profiles (either pre-, post- or reactive moderation) within forums, comments, images, videos and audio, liaising with the Legal and Community team where required
  • Manage the banned user process, and track and remove previously banned users
  • Maintain the Moderation Guidelines and ensure they are up to date
  • Regularly feed back insights gained from community moderation into the Community team
  • Monitor all industry and esports wales information and news to anticipate potential issues

Requirements

  • Knowledge of online legal issues and cool under pressure
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, and a proactive approach
  • Working operational knowledge and understanding of online community platform moderation tools (Discord, Twitch, Youtube Steam etc.)
  • Knowledge of the Esports industry and targeted demographicโ€™s culture, as well as internet culture
  • Team player, detail focused and reliable
  • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
  • Have a good knowledge of principles of customer service
  • Very active within the community on any of the platforms
  • Integrates with the community in either team games or community nights

Nice to Have

  • Previous moderation experience
  • Able to speak Welsh
