We’re looking to add new freelance journalists to our growing content team providing leading business to business coverage across the esports industry. Prior to applying, please ensure you've read through the below, and send through your CV, ideally with links to your social media profiles and examples of previous and relevant work.

The role primarily entails writing news and/or features, which can be anything from opinion pieces to interviews. It may also include work for clients of our ESI Media arm, and The Esports Journal.

As such, we ideally need people who know esports from both a consumer and industry perspective, who are well-versed on how the industry is built and operates, and who are interested in the commercial side of it worldwide too.

This is a more junior level role, meaning it's best suited for an individual earlier on in their journalism careers, who is keen to prove themselves. A person who knows WordPress, is good at keeping abreast of new stories in the space, who loves writing, and can bring fresh and new ideas to the table with regards to content, will thrive.

You’ll join the ESI content team group on Discord, and you will report in to ESI’s Editors.

We want to aid your development as an individual and, as such, will take time to help you improve with professional advice as and when required.

ESI is headquartered in London, but this role offers remote working.

Responsibilities:-

  • Write breaking esports business news stories with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail
  • Write features that adhere to the high standard set by the ESI team. Produce content for ESI Media clients too.
  • Help to increase traffic and grow ESI’s social media channels
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders throughout and around the esports industry, with a view to ensuring we break as many big stories as possible

We offer:-

  • A competitive rate of remuneration (Freelance to begin, but options for PT or FT in the future for the right candidates)
  • Be part of the rapidly expanding (and quite fun…) esports industry
  • Grow your reputation throughout the industry and make plenty of strong contacts
  • A chance for your own ideas to come to fruition and to ‘grow with the company’
