With the MD of ESI, the Commercial / Sales Manager will deliver and further develop the ESI sales strategy through strong and productive relationships across the esports sector and associated businesses. We are offering a competitive salary plus commission.

The Commercial / Sales Manager will be responsible for taking a lead role in growing ESI’s revenue across events, media, agency and professional services.

The Commercial / Sales Manager will work with our partners to build relationships that grow ESI’s presence in the market. ESI is a high growth business and the Commercial / Sales Manager must be visible in the market to help build momentum for the ESI brand.

To be successful in this role, the Commercial / Sales Manager will need to be abreast of industry trends and competitor activity and be able to feed in new thinking

An in-depth knowledge of business development across the esports sector and a proven track record of creating effective relationships with clients is required. It is anticipated that in time, this role will include management of a small sales team.

The role reports into the MD of ESI directly.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell event sponsorship and tickets across all ESI events globally
  • Sell advertising and media services across ESI’s portfolio of media products (news website, newsletter, magazine, etc)
  • Sell ESI Connect services across consultancy, brokerage and campaign activation. You will be a key driver in connecting clients as part of our introduction services, and have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the services where you have value to offer.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients and partners and, working closely with Events, Marketing, and Media colleagues, ensure the company delivers the promised services in a world-class manner
  • Manage relationships with clients, and produce quarterly / campaign sales reports for them
  • Contribute to the sales team effort by achieving consistent and growing sales results, and by providing input to improve our events and services to meet customer needs
  • Identify new sales and business opportunities for the company, and contribute ideas to strengthen the ESI brand and grow our offering of services
  • Manage the sales cycle; including sales planning, lead generation, planning & budgeting and sales reporting
  • Ensure that all sales materials and presentations are continually improved and always up to date
  • Production of ad-hoc reports to support strategic and operational management decisions
  • Attend and represent the company at events and exhibitions both in the UK and abroad

ABOUT YOU

You must have:

  • A strong, demonstrable background of B2B sales / account management
  • Provable experience in, and knowledge of, the esports landscape with a thorough understanding of the core and associated markets, stakeholders and how they interact
  • Experience with sales planning, client outreach and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to open doors and build rapport and deep relationships with industry executives across levels
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Able to deal with rapidly changing priorities and business circumstances
  • Strongly results-driven. Proficiency in convincing the client and closing the sale

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience with basic CMS systems (WordPress)
  • A network of senior level contacts across esports
  • Ability to use data and analytics reporting to drive decision making
  • Experience with Google Drive/Docs, and/or Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with and maintaining CRM systems for sales
  • Experience working with Shopify
  • An understanding of outbound marketing for lead generation (i.e. using our newsletters to drive lead generation for our own services)
