Location: Columbus, OH or Burbank, CA

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead Production Manager’s time will be spent managing a team of 3-5 Production Managers while executing, either in a support or lead capacity, on projects when time permits. It’ll be your job to ensure standard departmental and company-wide processes are followed, and provide guidance and feedback to the members of your team. Working with other Lead Production Managers and the department lead, you’ll help identify and implement efficiencies and systems to improve our workflow. You will be the main point of contact for your team when issues or questions arise. You will be responsible for upholding the highest standard of execution while mentoring those around you to do the same.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Provide coaching and guidance to all team members, including annual performance reviews and in-the-moment feedback
  • Assigning and balancing team members across productions
  • Manage the day to day operations of all direct reports across a series of connected or independent productions.
  • Execute the vision of department objectives created by the Leadership team
  • Evaluate and report progress of multiple productions on a regular basis
  • Participate in department strategy and planning
  • Establish and implement best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature the department and organization
  • Align with the other Production Operations departments (Creative, Broadcast Engineering, IT, Content, etc.) to find company-wide synergies and efficiencies between different verticals
  • Identify and conduct PM-related trainings
  • Perform project reviews to assess the health of a project and report findings at a scheduled frequency
  • Support with searching for, interviewing, hiring, and training new members of the PM team.
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Partner to Client Service team members with ability to help solve strategic, account-level challenges, and to provide status updates for, and occasionally directly to, clients.
  • Directly managing projects as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE

  • 4+ years of project/production management within production company or agency environments in a client-facing role
  • Deep knowledge of live event and studio production processes
  • Broadcast, film, TV, and/or digital production experience a must
  • Leader, mentor to mid- and junior-level team members
  • Strong team leader with a motivating work ethic and analytical mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Experience working with Client Service team members to help solve strategic, account-level challenges
  • Familiarity with project management software (JIRA, Trello, Asana, Smartsheet, monday.com, etc.) and best practices

  • 1+ years of management/leadership experience
