The successful applicant will quickly establish themselves as the key member of the team in facilitating new business, supported by the MD. The role requires someone who is confident in working independently and with the ability to support and take a prospect through the sales cycle. It is critical the successful candidate can build and sustain long term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Core sales initiatives will include partnership leads, table sales and other revenue-generating activity for the Esports Awards. Holding critical relationships with external agencies and partners including IMG – our media rights agency. The candidate will control and report on all sales activity on a weekly basis.
Having been privileged to work with some of the biggest brands in the world including Lexus, Verizon, Scuf Gaming and Secret Lab 2021 sees the continuation of key relationships, whilst managing new opportunities alongside.
Personal Specification
- 3-5 years’ experience of sales experience
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is an advantage
- A strong eye for opportunities and aptitude to close deals
- Creative thinker with confidence to try new ideas and accept a challenge
- Ability to work quickly from brief
- Excellent organisational skills
- A people person with a good sense of humour
- Meet and exceed sales targets
- Presentation and negotiation skills
- Happy to travel
- A passion for and a keen understanding of the gaming and esports worlds
Key Skills and Accountabilities
- Adding value, aiding the sales team in reaching their event revenue targets
- Identify areas of new income from the existing customer database
- Developing new business via networking and referrals
- Managing our external sales agents and keeping the relationship positive at all times
- Initiate face-to-face client meetings through research & follow up communication
- Utilise LinkedIn and LinkedIn navigator to personally connect and develop senior managements connections in the industry
- Negotiating through the sales process towards the closure of a sale
- To ensure customer records and sales activity are recorded on the database at all times
- Effective use of CRM
- Weekly reporting
- Working with the operations department to match or exceed client expectations
- Overseeing contract fulfilment and payments
- Manage own targets and sales pipeline, along with the Head of Sales
- Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance
- To aid the Operations Department at the Esports Awards
