JOB SUMMARY:

The Esports Event Manager will work toward establishing Allied Esports and HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas as a global leader for esports events and tournaments and be a main point of contact with the esports community and third party tournament organizers

SCOPE:

The Esports Event Manager, together with the VP of Properties and various team members, will coordinate communication and outreach efforts to the gaming community and to those potential customers, as well as managing relationships with game publishers, designers and gaming companies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of Allied Esports’ global esports event strategy including the Allied Esports Property Network and Affiliate partners
  • Establish and manage relations with key partners and collaborate in the development of Las Vegas esports productions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with game publishers, esports organizations and tournament organizers.
  • Formulate and implement an esports community-focused with an emphasis on the following:
  • Program information and schedules
  • Team and player content
  • Live broadcast/play day support and coverage, including messaging, content, moderation, and reporting
  • Develop an active and engaged relationship with players in the competitive community, including communication relating to calendar of events, and activities designed to keep players engaged with the competitive programs
  • Assist in building a direct-to-player communication experience with the community
  • Assess the competitive community’s pulse, understand community concerns, and communicate community status to internal development partners
  • Coordinate communication and content activity, and interface with internal production resources

Production of daily, weekly, and monthly internal reports of activity

KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS:

  • Gaming experience across multiple platforms and genres and up-to-date on latest trends in gaming and esports
  • Proficient in social media and moderation, and comfortable in all digital/online environments
  • Available to work nights and weekends as needed based on live event coverage needs
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and on the telephone, when dealing with management, employees and guests

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Comply with company policies and operating procedure manual
  • Maintain knowledge and utilize computer software programs applicable to the department, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Maintain a good awareness of changes in trends, techniques, and client needs, and communicate that information effectively in staff and department meetings
  • Meets attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies
  • Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other company policies, procedure and rules as presented by Allied Esports
  • Perform other job duties as assigned and participate in special projects at management’s request
  • Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities of the role

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5 years experience in esports, entertainment, or traditional sports programs
  • 3 years in community management
  • Strong understanding of the various components that make up an esports program
  • Previous experience with video games and online game play
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to create quality documentation for internal and external audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and services (such as Facebook, Twitter, reddit, blogs, etc.)

Must be able to move in and around the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas venue through the entire shift. Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast-paced environment. Frequently communicates with co-workers, vendors and clients in person and over the telephone to answer questions as well as provide assistance and information. Must be able to identify and assess information on computer screens, written reports and documentation, and record accurate written and electronic messages and reports. Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, balance, and work at a desk, to include pushing and pulling cabinet drawers. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and respond to visual and aural cues. Must have manual dexterity to be able to operate the following equipment: computer, game station equipment, telephone, photo copy machine, fax machine, ten key, embosser, printer and bar encoder. Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye/and coordination. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke and an environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
