The VP of Corporate Development and Strategy will play a critical role in shaping and driving the long-term growth of ESL. You will directly report to co-CEOs and work closely with the ESL Senior Leadership team to define the market opportunity, develop medium and long-term business strategies, and identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute potential M&A opportunities.
The ideal candidate for this position will reside in the New York City area or Europe.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the development of ESL’s long-term growth strategy and multi-year business plan. Work closely with the Sr. Leadership team and key function leaders to develop robust long-term strategic growth roadmaps that consider organic (e.g., product, innovation & technology) and inorganic growth opportunities (M&A, JVs, venture capital) in both existing and adjacent markets
- Conduct strategic analyses of existing and adjacent markets to help identify and evaluate potential product, innovation, investment and/or acquisitions opportunities. Critically review and assess market structure, customer workflow and needs as well as trends & drivers influencing market size, growth, profitability, comparative advantage and risk
- Establish and operationalize ESL’s M&A process to include sourcing and pipeline development, stewardship of internal and BOD decision making processes including valuation, leadership of target engagement and deal process, and management of transactions from inception through close and integration
- Collaborate across functions to support the annual business planning process and ensure that long-term strategies are woven into actionable annual plans
- Ensure that pricing and packaging strategies and plans are aligned with and support our overall business strategy
- Lead M&A process working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to source and close deals aligned with strategies
What you need:
- 10+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, investment banking, and/or equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, driving change across a company)
- Experience in the video game technology sector
- Demonstrated project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills through all levels of the organization
- Experience leading global businesses or working in non-US markets
