Escape Portal is an Esports Gaming Lounge in Cannington who are looking for a Casual Team Leader with exceptional customer service skills and prior leadership experience in the hospitality area. We are seeking someone who is passionate about the videogame industry, can use social media platforms, and is interested in actively searching for gaming related news/updates.

This role is very hands on, so you will be expected to work together with up to 2 team members per shift, as well as have the ability, to monitor workflow, coach staff and oversee the day to day smooth running of the business.

Hours and Availability

  • Open availability & flexibility to work nights, weekends, store openings & closings.
  • Varied hours depending on business requirements – approx. 20-30 hours per week

To be considered for this role we are seeking the following:

  • Over the age of 18
  • Ability to build relationships with customers so their experience is enjoyable and fun, with the expectation of them coming back.
  • Willing to be a team player and be comfortable to lead and coach staff and able to make good decisions
  • Be committed with a strong work ethic and strive to lead the business to success
  • Have good negotiation skills, be confident and not be afraid of confrontation should it arise
  • Be honest, punctual and dependable with excellent communication and time management skills
  • Be prepared to trouble shoot and fix any technical issues that may arise on shift (training will be provided)
  • Be able to identify any high-risk safety concerns and act on those concerns
  • Have a high level of cleanliness - ensuring equipment, restrooms, floors are always kept clean and tidy
  • Have a high level of food safety awareness

Duties will include:

  • Opening and closing the store
  • Face to face interaction with customers
  • Hands on working within a team, as well as oversee the day to day smooth running of the business.
  • Monitor workflow, lead and coach a small team ensuring daily tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Data base management
  • Cash handling, balancing, eftpos management
  • Regularly explaining and enforcing the terms of conditions to customers
  • Fault and End of Shift reports
  • Sell food, drinks and merchandise
  • Staff training, stock control
  • Resolving customer complaints within authority levels
  • Answering in coming customer phone calls, booking events, use social media to communicate with customers
  • Follow all business procedures, policies and maintain standards.
  • Seek ways to improve processes and procedures with guidance.
  • Other duties as required
