What you’ll do

Psyonix is seeking an experienced UI Artist to work on Rocket League and future projects. On the Rocket League UI team, you will be responsible for helping to maintain and continue to shape the visual brand and aesthetic of Rocket League. Working with 3D art, marketing, and other art teams in the studio will be your bread and butter. Here at Psyonix, we believe that everyone has something to offer the game and studio, but we work collectively to produce the very best the industry has to offer. Plus we make a game about soccer cars, how awesome is that.

In this role, you will

  • Design and create cohesive visuals and identity for UI screens and content
  • Work with UX designers, game designers, and engineers to bring features to their polished potential
  • Use whatever tools that are needed to communicate the visual fidelity of a feature or screen and help give the engineers all the support they need to bring that vision to life
  • Work with animations to communicate motion and interaction
  • Create content for seasons including banners and avatar borders
  • Help maintain and craft the robust style guide for Rocket League to ensure cohesive and elegant consistency

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years working in a UI Art role or capacity for a interactive product
  • Knowledge of the latest tools and capabilities of those tools - Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, etc.
  • An understanding of exporting and creating assets needed for implementation
  • Eager to learn and step outside of your comfort zone
  • Can communicate art across different non-art disciplines
  • A fundamental understanding of interactions and transition
  • Can work with other artists and designers to collaborate on the same feature or system.
  • Can give responsibly accurate estimations of work length or can work with production to produce estimations
  • Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do

Nice to have skills

  • Experience with Unreal Engine and designing and/or building 3D graphics
  • Experience working on AAA game titles
  • Unreal Motion Graphics UI Designer experience
  • Experience with building materials in Unreal Engine
