Epic Games’ Information Technology Documentation Team is looking for a smart, creative intern to join them in 2022. Depending on your interests, skills, and experience, you’ll contribute to the internal knowledge for IT and Information Security teams.

You’ll work closely with IT professionals and other technical writers to document internal systems and services, create wiki content, and work on special projects. Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. Responsibilities:

  • Copy-edit and publish wiki drafts written by others.
  • Create, edit, and maintain internal knowledge and end-user facing documentation.
  • Review outdated documentation and follow up with technical owners.
  • Interview subject matter experts and understand the inner workings of Epic’s IT services.
  • Update outdated documentation and reorganize content to improve findability.
  • Assist with creating accessibility guidelines for developers.
  • Perform usability tests and recommend improvements to user-facing systems.
  • Document internal doc team processes.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in writing technical documentation and are pursuing or have a degree in writing or related area of study (English, communications, or journalism; computer science with a minor in English/Communications also considered).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new complex technologies and concepts quickly.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Some writing experience in complex subjects, as demonstrated with a portfolio of writing samples.
