What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an experienced engineer to enhance and maintain the capabilities of Unreal Engine in AR and VR, while creating new features with a focus on bringing the engine to new and existing platforms in that space. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to dive into a complex system with passion and quick results.

In this role, you will

  • Develop new features and maintain existing code in C++, HLSL, and other languages
  • Follow excellent engineering practices end-to-end, including technical design and architecture, iteration, manual and automated testing, bug fixing, and maintenance
  • Work effectively with peers, managers, customers, press and technology partners in high-pressure situations
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to iterate on technical issues with other engineers and also non-technical people such as producers, artists and designers
  • Answer technical questions from licensees; this may include writing technical documentation and delivering presentations, driving internal design discussions, and teaching content teams how to use code features

What we're looking for

  • Strong C++ knowledge and multi-threaded programming techniques
  • Experience with Unreal Engine preferred but not required
  • Experience with mobile platforms a plus
  • Performance minded development and optimization skills
  • Results oriented approaches and thinking
  • Must be able to communicate and work well with a team of similarly passionate and skilled individuals
  • Strong communication and proficiency working with designers to develop and iterate on features/tools
  • Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do.
