What You'll Do

Epic Games is growing our engineering teams to support operations of our large-scale, highly available, and secure online services and infrastructure behind Epic Games and products. The person in this role will work closely with software engineering, production, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams to support and drive forward online services.

This role is a Senior DevOps Engineer and is part of our Cloud Embedded DevOps team. This role will help Epic Games drive operational excellence to deliver the best experience possible for millions of users by solving complex problems.

In this role, you will

  • Design and build operational infrastructure to support Epic Games services, automating and creating tooling where possible

  • Provide troubleshooting and timely resolution of any system, network, and infrastructure problems

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for handling incidents

  • Provide support for developers on the team for things like configuring monitoring/alerting, advising on architecture, debugging deployment issues, capacity planning, and similar operational tasks

What we're looking for

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux and cloud computing platforms (such as AWS)

  • Experience with infrastructure as code and continuous integration tools (e.g. Terraform, TeamCity, CodeFresh, GitHub Actions)

  • Expertise in designing, analyzing, & troubleshooting large-scale systems

  • Demonstrable scripting experience with a variety of scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools (e.g. Go, Ruby, Python, Shell)

  • Experience with a continuous delivery model of deploying software

  • Proven history of working directly with application and development teams

  • Experience operating, scaling, and debugging Kubernetes clusters (EKS)

  • Experience operating and scaling Redis (Elasticache)

  • Experience with CDN use-cases and configurations

  • Ability to create/maintain effective service dashboards

This role is open to multiple locations (including CA, NYC, and WA).

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

New York City Base Pay Range

$161,201—$268,669 USD

California Base Pay Range

$141,857—$236,429 USD

Washington Base Pay Range

$135,409—$225,681 USD
