Online Engineering at Epic

Epic Games is growing operations inside our development teams to support operations of our large-scale, highly available, secure, online services and infrastructure behind Epic Games and products. The people in these roles will work closely with software engineering, customer service, quality assurance, community, and product teams to provide online services that enhance the user experience for all of Epic’s systems.

Internship Overview

We are on the lookout for smart, dynamic interns to join our dev teams. When you join Epic you'll join a team that's pushing the limits of gaming and interactive. From Unreal Engine to Fortnite, to the Epic Games Store, you'll contribute to the unrelenting focus on innovation, quality and community that defines us.

Intern Profiles We Are Seeking Within The Online Team

  • Online Programmer
  • Infrastructure Operations
  • Infrastructure Engineering

Qualifications Include

  • College level student pursuing degree in computer science or related degree.
  • Proficient in C++ for engineering positions
  • Online service integration experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following: game engines, REST services (we use Java), consoles (Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation), or mobile (Android, iOS)
  • Familiarity with NoSQL/SQL database concepts
  • Experience with Linux, and cloud computing technologies such as AWS
  • Tools, including Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Knowledge and experience in Git and Perforce
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
