Epic Games is looking for a creative and self-motivated Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing for our games in Japan. You’ll design and execute marketing campaigns that create awareness around the product within Japan. The ideal candidate knows how to excite and engage players in an authentic way, using meaningful in-game and around-game content.

Responsibilities

  • Devising and driving the Japan marketing strategy for a product and make sure it delivers against the global brand vision and the annual business goals
  • Helping prioritize marketing spend and activities in Japan and ensure the optimal allocation of resources
  • Supporting the global marketing team with Japanese insights optimizing every campaign for reach, engagement, and monetization
  • Establishing and actively using KPIs to help the marketing team effectively prioritize between a wide array of attractive solutions
  • Providing frequent reports and analysis of the game and business performance to various internal stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; business and partners; platform partners (Sony and Nintendo); community influencers; and marketing agencies
  • Being responsible for the overall brand position communication in Japan, and assist in constantly evaluating new exciting market opportunities
  • Working closely with global esports team to develop and support local online and offline events
  • Working with Global UA team to tailor UA plans for local Japan market

Qualifications

  • Marketing veteran and have solid experience within the gaming or entertainment industry (ideally with F2P or games as a service)
  • Strong understanding and working history of planning and implementing marketing campaigns in Japan
  • Have worked with remote global marketing teams and know the challenges of regional marketing
  • Capable of devising cutting-edge marketing strategies backed up by the insightful market and player analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to own a significant budget and know how to make tough trade-offs to maximize the overall player experience
  • Proficient in tracking KPIs across multiple games and understand how to interpret information and devise a solid set of appropriate actions
  • A quantitative skill set that includes managing budgets, forecasts, and user acquisition, retention and monetization
  • Constantly looking for ways to learn and improve but don’t miss deadlines despite managing large and often very complex projects
  • Leading by example and enjoying developing less seasoned colleagues both within and outside your immediate team
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with key stakeholders and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Results-driven personality that is self-motivated and consistently delivers high quality work
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English
