Epic Games Unreal Engine Development Console team is looking for a smart, creative Engineering Intern to join them in 2023. Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. The UE Console team is responsible for a variety of game consoles including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Steam Deck, and Stadia. We work on a variety of systems ranging among infrastructure, packaging, input, graphics, and general CPU tasks. We are often working with the latest technologies in gaming, working with console manufacturers to develop their software and hardware. Additionally we collaborate with the many teams at Epic working on games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and special showcase projects.
In This Role You Will:
Debugging CPU, GPU, and/or peripherals of modern game consoles
Performance analysis and optimization on game consoles
Development of workflow tools for game console targets
What We’re Looking For:
Degree work in CS or related fields
Demonstrated C++ programming skills from class or outside of school projects
Design gameplay sensibilities
Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms
Experience working with optimization
Interest in low level and cross platform programming
Self-driven desire to work in the games industry
Portfolio work (website, Github, examples of code or working projects/demos)
